Parenting Essentials!

Hello!  How's everyone doing?  The weather around the country is CRAZY...I hope everyone who is having bad weather is safe and sound....Know you are all in my thoughts and prayers!

From Parenting.com:

The 6 most annoying things kids say -- and the best ways to respond:

by Gayla on August 23rd, 2007

Ever wonder how to respond to any of the following?

“Mine!”

“It’s not fair.”

“You’re not the boss of me.”

“I want it now!”

“You never let me do anything.”

“I don’t like you.”

Now, I’ve found how the professionals say parents should respond to these types of

statements, but I’m curious as to how parents actually do respond.

We all know that the professionals aren’t always right! Right?

Now, once you’ve let your own responses, check out what the professionals say and

see how you measure up.

Well........as a mother/foster carer/grandmother and trained nursery nurse/teaching assistant i didn't do too well there
Where has all the discipline gone, have the psychologists and sociologist took a good look at what modern day thinking has done to our young??? This "treating the children as you would an adult for the sake of respect sounds good in theory but in actuality it very rarely works. Children need to know their role in a loveing family so when i say "sit" i mean sit and there is no further discussion...........lol
